May 2013: Meeting location is at the Sacramento County Sheriff Station on 65th Street & Florin Road. Please visit the Monthly Meetings section for the address and the map. We will also be using 147.555 MHz as the talk-in frequency. Someone will be at the radio should you have questions or need directions.
2013: Nominations for a board member, we have one vacancy. It has been vacant since October 2012 with little to no interest from the membership to fill it. It was the board's decision at the last board meeting that we will not fill this position at this time due to memberhsip body size and the number of board members. We chose this as the best option. If someone would like to fill the position feel free to attend the board meeting or let us know at the monthly meeting.
Welcome to site of the Elk Grove - Florin Amateur Radio Club. This site is designed to inform you of upcoming events that will take place in the near future. We will post information that you will be interested in, such as future meeting times and places, and any pertinent information resulting from prior meetings.
The first meeting took place on Saturday, November 12th, 2011, the location being the LDS Church, located on the north east corner of Elk Grove - Florin Road and Vintage Park Drive. The next meeting was held on Saturday, December 10th. A subsequent meeting was held on January 14th. The Bylaws were voted on, and the Board was given authority by those in attendance to choose officers. On Saturday, February 11th, 2012, the Board members presented their positions and were voted in by attending members.
Since then we have been growing and turnout has been great. We have a lot of information to teach and share. Field Day this year was great and we look forward to next year. If you are just checking us out we invite you to attend one of our monthly meetings. We welcome anyone, even if you don’t have a license yet. There are plenty of people willing to help you learn and you could possibly find an Elmer.
